What Is a Magnetic Grill

Magnetic grill from GME enables effective magnetic separation for mechanical and gravity flow applications in all industries. Magnet grills and grate magnets can be installed or laid down inside hoppers, pits, chutes, housings, and bins, where they are easily accessible for cleaning.

Free-flowing powders and free-flowing granules are filtered of ultrafine ferrous impurities by a hopper magnet. GME’s designs maximize equipment to capture, control, and protect while enhancing product purity. We are the Magnetic Grill Manufacturer. A magnetic grill is most effective when the product is dry, free-flowing, and does not bridge between the magnetic tubes.

1. Square Magnetic Grill: Square Magnetic Grills and Grates provide an effective means of removing ferrous chips and metal particles from loosely packed, free-flowing materials. They are usually constructed of 304 stainless steel tubes or 316 stainless steel tubes for special domains filled with Ceramic or rare-earth magnets.

2. Round Magnetic Grid: Permanent Round Magnetic Grills are constructed by a row of magnetic bars that are fixed by frames in a round shape. used to separate iron particles mixed with dry, granular, or free-flowing materials such as carbon black, drugs, chemicals, cosmetics, plastics, food industries, and so on.

3. Hopper Magnet: Grate Magnets / Hopper Magnets provide a properly configured, high-density magnetic field to trap and hold ferrous fines, fragments, and small metal objects as the product flows through them. Stainless steel tubing and frames are welded into strong, integral units. They can be installed – or simply laid – inside hoppers, housings, and bins – and easily removed for cleaning. Grates are built for low-abrasion applications and should measure at least twice the size of your outlet opening, so as not to restrict product flow.

4. Easy-Clean Magnetic Grill: Our easy-clean magnetic separator grid or grate can be installed into existing chute work or machinery where height is restricted. It can also be supplied in housings for ease of installation into existing process lines. The magnetic separator grid or grate can pick up all contamination down to sub-micron size. Its cleaning process is quick and easy; pull the magnetic cores out of the stainless steel tube, and the contamination will fall away.

How the Magnetic Grate works

Inside a magnetic grill, the separation process is straightforward. When powders or small granules pass through the stainless-steel frame, the magnetic bars catch any ferrous particles mixed in the material. These bars create a strong magnetic field that pulls iron dust, metal fragments, and other contaminants out of the flow before they move deeper into your equipment. Because the material spreads evenly across the grill surface, the contact time is long enough to ensure effective separation. After the process, the collected metal can be wiped off the bars during routine cleaning. This simple working method helps protect downstream machines and keeps your final product cleaner and more consistent.

Quality Management System

We believe that even a small magnet can make a big difference in industrial performance. That is why every step of our production process is carefully controlled, from raw material inspection to final product testing. Quality is not just a requirement, but a long-term commitment to our clients.
In May 2014, our factory successfully passed the TS16949 Quality Management System certification. In October of the same year, we also obtained ISO9001, ISO14001, and GB/T28001 certifications. These certifications reflect our standardized management system in quality control, environmental responsibility, and workplace safety.
Our production follows documented procedures and inspection standards. Each batch of products undergoes testing to ensure stable magnetic performance, structural reliability, and compliance with customer requirements.
Through continuous improvement and strict internal audits, we maintain consistent product quality and reliable supply for global industrial applications.

Gauss Test of the Magnetic Grill

The Gauss test measures the magnetic strength of each tube in the magnetic grill. It helps confirm that the magnet meets the required surface strength before installation.
A Gauss meter is placed directly on the surface of the magnetic tube. The probe measures the magnetic flux density at contact. For high-intensity magnetic grills, the surface Gauss level can typically reach 10,000–12,000 Gauss, depending on the magnet grade and design.
Testing is usually done at multiple points along the tube to ensure consistent performance. Uniform magnetic strength is important because uneven magnetization can reduce separation efficiency.
Regular Gauss testing during production and inspection helps ensure stable magnetic performance. It also provides reliable data for customers who require certified magnetic strength for industrial applications.

Packaging of Magnetic Grates

Packaging of Magnetic Grates

Magnetic grates are carefully packed to ensure safe transportation and to prevent damage during shipment. Due to their weight and strong magnetic force, proper packaging is essential for maintaining product integrity. Each magnetic grate is first wrapped with protective film to prevent scratches on the stainless steel surface. Foam padding is then added around the frame and magnetic tubes to absorb shock and reduce movement inside the box.
For export orders, we use reinforced wooden cases with internal cushioning materials. This structure helps protect the equipment from impact, vibration, and moisture during long-distance transportation. Larger pneumatic or custom models are securely fixed inside the crate to avoid shifting.
Clear labeling and protective handling marks are applied to the outer packaging to ensure safe loading and unloading. Proper packaging ensures that the magnetic grates arrive in good condition and are ready for installation upon delivery.
