Drum Head Roller Separator Permanent Magnetic Pulley

The operating principle of Magnetic Pulley is similar to Magnetic Drum, which is also designed for continuous self-cleaning of metal. Powerful permanent Magnetic Separation Pulleys are typically installed as magnetic head pulleys and occasionally as magnetic tail pulleys in conveyor system applications. It is generally installed at the end of the conveyor belt to separate the iron contaminant from the material, to improve product purity, and protect equipment from metal damage, commonly used in industries such as waste recovery, feed & grain, and mining.

When a product is conveyed along the belt to the head pulley and enters the magnetic field where metal contaminants are attracted and held tightly to the belt surface. As the belt is conveyed around the magnetic pulley, metal contaminants are held in place until they pass through the magnetic field where they are safely discarded separately from the clean product.

Magnetic Pulley Demonstration

As the belt conveyed product travels over the magnetic head pulley, any ferrous metal that is mixed in with the product is attracted and held to the face of the belt and carried to the underside of the pulley. After the metal passes out of the magnetic field, it is released and discharges into a chute or bin for analysis or disposal.

A diverter is typically installed below the pulley to direct the metal contaminants away from the cleaned product. The shafts of the roller can be machined to suit existing bearing detail ensuring ease of installation and minimal downtime.

The drum body can be made from cheap ferrite magnets. The max magnetic strength can be up to 15000GS if made from powerful rare earth magnets. Axial or radial pole magnetic circuit.
The surface material is 100% 304 or 316L stainless steel which is all welded rugged construction and in good corrosion resistance.
No electric power is required for magnetic field generation.
Bored and keyed hubs, a special design for two ends of the pulley is in order to connect with a motor.
An automatic separation system can be formed if the pulley works together with the conveyor.
Applicable Material: Bulk processes like Mineral, Wood chip, Recyclables, etc. Special requirements can be custom-made.
