Bank cards and credit card magnetic strips record and store your relevant information. If the magnetic stripe information is weakened, changed or lost, terminal devices such as POS and ATM may not be able to read the correct bank card information when you use the card for transactions. Cause the transaction to fail.
Do not store your credit card loosely in your purse or pants pocket. Dirt, grit, keys, coins and other items can scratch the magnetic strip, and eventually, the strip will no longer work.
If you store your card in your wallet, store all your credit cards in the same direction. Do not store it back to back with another credit or debit card. Placing cards with the magnetic strips facing each other can demagnetize the strips on both cards.

Why My Credit Card Gets Damaged:
1. Place the magnetic stripe card near a magnet or a household appliance with a strong magnetic field effect, so that the magnetic medium in the card becomes invalid due to the effect of the magnetic field.
2. The position of the magnetic stripe card in the wallet or wallet is too close to the magnetic buckle, and the magnetic medium on the card is demagnetized and damaged.
3. Due to careless storage or use, the magnetic stripe card is subjected to external force and the magnetic stripe information on the card is lost. Such as being compressed, broken, scratched, dirty, etc.
4. Unintentionally put the two magnetic cards back to back together, and their magnetic media rubbed and collided with each other, so they suffered damage.
Ways to Avoid Demagnetizing Your Credit Card:
1. Do not touch or rub the magnetic stripe with a magnet;
2. Do not carry your card in anything with a magnetic clasp;
3. Do not store or carry two cards with their magnetic stripes touching;
4. Keep your card away from security sensor removal devices;
5. Don’t carry your card with your smartphone;
6. Keep your card away from MRI machines.
To protect your credit card from damage, invest in a good quality wallet, make sure that you insert one card per slot; the cards should not move freely inside the pocket. Do not frequently sit on your wallet. Carry your wallet in your front pocket if possible. Avoid coins inside the wallet and use a protective plastic sleeve over your card.
